Libertas are anti-Europe and will not bring new jobs to Ireland
Green Party MEP candidate for Dublin Senator Deirdre de Burca has described a Libertas leaflet currently circulating to Dublin homes a ‘masterpiece of omission’.
Senator de Burca said: “The leaflet is quite vague on what Libertas stands for and omits to mention that its candidates want to do away with the Common Agricultural Policy, described by its leader, Declan Ganley as ‘a weapon of mass destruction’.
“Caroline Simons says that Libertas are a pan-European party but describes Brussels as ‘abroad’. On which continent does Caroline Simons think that Belgium is located?
“Libertas also appear to be against the European Union spending money in this country. This means that Libertas are against the CAP, the Cohesion fund, the Structural fund, the €4 billion voted only last week for renewable energy and the €30 million being provided by the European Investment Bank for green collar jobs. They are against investment, jobs and recovery, which can now only come from Europe.
“It is clear to me that Libertas are anti-Europe and if elected will not play any role in bringing new jobs to Ireland,” concluded Senator de Burca.
